Google’s annual Cloud Next event took place April 9-11 in Las Vegas and brought with it the promise of a hugely expanded infrastructure to support and bolster the transformative capabilities of AI technologies. Along with the myriad practical applications for business, commerce, and tech development, AI also has the power to transform entertainment, something Google has a clear hand in with an upcoming project: the Wizard of Oz at the Sphere.
Entertainment: Reimagined

The spherical 17,600-seat venue, renowned for its all-enveloping audio-visual displays, will host an AI-assisted reinvention of the 1939 cinema classic in August 2025. Generative AI will join beloved characters like Dorothy Gale, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion to fill the massive space with an immersive sensory experience. Notably, no new music, dialogue, or scenes are being added with the project instead making the most possible use of the existing film’s elements.
The plight of Dorothy and her newfound friends in Oz may be one of the most tantalizing, glamorous aspects of Google’s future AI endeavors, but Cloud Next 25 revealed plenty more to be excited about.
Adventures in AI Architecture
Google is diving into the systems that drive its AI, its AI Hypercomputer architecture, and comprehensively upgrading it for “better performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness,” and aiming to produce “more intelligence per dollar.”
It also introduced Ironwood, a new TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) that offers a tenfold performance boost from previous generations of Google TPUs.
Creativity in the Box
A text-to-music model dubbed Lyria comes alongside upgrades to existing creativity-focused AI tools like Veo 2 (video creation), Chirp 3 (human-quality text-to-speech), and Imagen 3 (text-to-image creation).

Such tools will no doubt be integral to the creation of next-gen AI adult experiences. The ability of AI to, for example, take an existing VR or AR porn scene then reinterpret and rebuild it according to a user’s personal sexual desires and inclinations means viewers will have theoretically unlimited potential to mould their own adult entertainment options.
AR content seems especially viable in this framing. A creative AI could absorb details about a user, their interests, and their environment, matching them with a generative experience offering highly tailored elements and remarkable realism.
As the highly competitive AI space surges toward a new generation of truly comprehensive AI tools, it will be very exciting to see how they change the shape of VR and AR porn to come.
